Gitanjali Circle of Young Creative Writers,
8th Poetry Recitation Function, 13th July 2019, CGI Birmingham
"The Gitanjali Circle of Young Creative Writers (GCYCW) has been going strong for the past eight years and at this function Consul General Dr Aman Puri was our Chief guest.
The young writers recited their poems on a wide range of topics from India’s culture history, Yoga to the latest World Cup Cricket matches. A cultural programme consisting of a Violin performance, Carnatic Music, Bollywood singing and chanting of mantras, followed the recitation.
The function was well attended. The response and support from the parents and relatives of the young writers and many respected members of the community was overwhelming. Dr Krishna Kumar (founder President of Gitanjali Multilingual Literary Circle UK) and Mrs Swaran Talwar graced the occasion.
Kaveesha Maddala conducted the poetry recitation in a very confident and interesting way. Madeeha Saher (Chair of GCYCW) closed the session with an eloquent vote of thanks.
To conclude, I would like to thank Consul General Dr Aman Puri, Head of Chancery Mr Chakraborty and the Consulate staff for their support and provision of a prestigious venue for this event".
Best Wishes,
Mrs Swaran Talwar
(Coordinator GCYCW)
